Ondo commissioner, Aminu, resigns after Akeredolu’s death

Ondo State Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Raimi Aminu, has resigned his appointment.

Aminu announced his appointment in letter he addressed to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The commissioner said his resignation was as a result of Akeredolu’s death.

He said, “I write to tender my resignation of appointment as the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing with effect from today, 28’h December, 2023.

“This decision is anchored on my conscience, as my leader and dear boss, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, joined the Saint Triumphant.

“I sincerely thank our dear Arakunrin and the good people of the State for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet as Senior Special Assistant on Lands & Infrastructure, Special Adviser on Lands, Works and Infrastructure and Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing.”

Before Aminu’s resignation, four aides of the late Akeredolu had also tendered their resignation after the former governor’s death on Wednesday.

The first to resign was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties, Dare Aragbaye. After him was the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Richard Olatunde and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties and Strategy, Doyin Odebowale. The Special Assistant to the Governor on Photography, Olawale Abolade also tendered his resignation.
