Ondo Ebira community endorses Tinubu for second term

The Ebira community in Ondo State has endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was made by members of the community under the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu during a gathering in Akure, with representatives from the state’s 18 local government areas in attendance.

The group said its decision was based on what it described as the achievements of the Tinubu administration in infrastructure, education, agriculture, security and economic reforms since 2023.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the GMT Ebira Wing, Hassan Ahete, said the endorsement was driven by the administration’s reforms and what he described as progress recorded across various sectors.

Ahete cited projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, as well as initiatives under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, agriculture, youth empowerment and tax reforms.

He also commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his contributions to security and grassroots development, while urging Ebira residents in Ondo State and other Nigerians to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“The foundation has been laid, the projects have begun and the reforms are taking shape,” Ahete said, adding that the group would mobilise its members to support Tinubu and APC candidates in 2027.

Similarly, the Director-General of GMT in Ondo State, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, said the endorsement reflected growing support for Tinubu among non-indigenous communities in the state, adding that similar endorsements by Igbo and Hausa communities were being planned.
