The Ondo State Government has intensified efforts to tackle water scarcity at the FUTA Teaching Hospital in Akure with an inspection of an ongoing solar-powered borehole project.
A statement announcing the visit was issued by Oluwakemi Adedeji-Adeyemi, Head of Media and Publicity, Ministry of Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene.
During the inspection, the Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Ayodele Akande, said the project aligns with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to improving access to clean water.

Akande praised the governor for approving the intervention, describing reliable water supply as essential to effective healthcare delivery.
The commissioner was joined on the tour by the RUWASSA General Manager, Rotimi Oladimeji; the Director of Water Supply, Akinyomi Olumide; and other senior officials.
Oladimeji explained that the project features a 100,000-litre overhead tank supported by three boreholes, each fitted with a 3HP Grundfos pump capable of producing 5,000 litres per hour.
He assured that the facility will be completed in the coming weeks and will provide steady water supply to the hospital once commissioned by the governor.
