The Ondo State Government has unveiled plans to digitise all its laws and make them freely accessible online, in a move aimed at enhancing transparency and improving access to justice.
The initiative was announced by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olukayode Ajulo, following a meeting with the Managing Director of LawPavilion Business Solutions Limited, Ope Olugasa.
According to Ajulo, the development marks a significant milestone that will transform how residents, legal practitioners, and institutions interact with the laws of the state. He noted that the initiative is part of broader efforts to modernise the justice system and make legal resources more accessible to the public.
Furthermore, he explained that the partnership would involve the comprehensive digitisation of all existing laws, which would then be published electronically and made available for free through LawPavilion’s platform. This, he said, would ensure continuous and unrestricted public access.
“This is a game-changing milestone that will revolutionise how citizens, lawyers, judges, and policymakers interact with the laws of Ondo State,” Ajulo stated.
Meanwhile, Olugasa affirmed that the company would deploy its advanced legal technology tools to ensure that the laws are not only accessible but also easily searchable. He added that the project aligns with the company’s longstanding commitment to advancing the justice sector through innovation.
In addition, he highlighted that the initiative would eliminate the traditional reliance on bulky law books, enhance efficiency in legal processes, and significantly reduce delays within the justice system.
Overall, the Attorney General emphasised that the project would strengthen the rule of law and align the state with global best practices in digital governance, while also conserving public resources and improving service delivery across the justice sector.
