Panic broke out in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, following the death of an unidentified motorcyclist in a road accident along the Ore-Okitipupa Road.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred around the Idi Mango area of the town and involved three people.
The witnesses attributed the accident to excessive speed, alleging that the deceased was travelling from Ore towards Okitipupa when he collided with another motorcycle.
The impact reportedly killed the motorcyclist instantly, while two other people involved in the crash were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Some passersby expressed concern over the frequency of accidents along the route and appealed to motorists and motorcycle riders to exercise caution.
One of them said, “Many accidents have occurred on this road. If speed breakers are installed in the area, I believe they will help reduce the rate of accidents.”
They also urged relevant authorities to consider installing speed breakers around the accident-prone section to control speeding and prevent further tragedies.
As of press time, a police source had confirmed the incident; however, further details surrounding the crash were not immediately available.
