Ondo North leaders meet Aiyedatiwa, propose security trust fund

Leaders from the Northern Senatorial District of Ondo State on Tuesday met with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in Akure to discuss strategies for strengthening the state’s security network.
The delegation, led by former senator Dr. Bode Olajumoke, paid a courtesy visit to the governor at his office, where they highlighted the need for improved security infrastructure and funding.
Olajumoke advised the state government to invest in modern security equipment and deploy technology to enhance the efficiency of the Amotekun Corps. He also called for the recruitment of additional personnel to boost on-ground operations.
He further recommended the establishment of a Security Trust Fund via an Executive Bill, which he said would help ensure better coordination, synergy, and sustainable funding for internal security.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and property. He disclosed that 115 military personnel are being deployed to the Akoko area to address recent security concerns.

The governor welcomed the suggestion of a Security Trust Fund and revealed plans to strengthen the Amotekun Corps with more personnel. He also assured the delegation of equitable development across all local government areas of the state.
