The Ondo State Police Command has arrested not less than 99 suspected criminals during a coordinated raid carried out across various parts of the state.
This was disclosed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, in statement made public on Monday, noting that the operation was conducted through a joint effort involving the police, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Jimoh explained that the suspects were apprehended on February 8 during intelligence-driven raids on identified criminal hideouts, black spots, and flashpoints known for unlawful activities.
He stated that the suspects were linked to numerous offences including armed robbery, burglary, theft, cultism, and other related crimes, while adding that security operatives also recovered several items believed to have been used for criminal activities.
According to him, the suspects are currently undergoing profiling, adding that those found culpable will be charged in court.
He also noted that the state commissioner of police commended the professionalism displayed by officers involved in the operation and urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information to help maintain peace and security across Ondo State.
