Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, a 2027 gubernatorial aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has raised an alarm over the destruction of his campaign billboards by suspected political opponents in Ibadan.
Adegoke, who is also the Aare Egbe-Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, disclosed that some of his billboards were destroyed just hours after he left the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ADC.
He accused political opponents of targeting his campaign because of fears over his popularity ahead of the state’s forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Describing the incident as a deliberate attempt to weaken his political influence in Ibadan, the aspirant urged supporters and the public to remain calm while authorities investigate the matter.
Adegoke’s defection to the ADC has added a new paradigm to the Oyo State governorship race, potentially reshaping alliances and voter dynamics ahead of the 2027 elections.
