The Ondo State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving across the state through strengthened collaboration with the scheme.

The Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, gave the assurance while receiving the Ondo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Bakare Kuburat, and her management team during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Akure.

Ohagwu said the command would continue to work closely with the NYSC to guarantee the security of corps members and maintain a peaceful environment conducive to their service throughout the state.

He also pledged to deepen strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders, emphasizing that proactive policing and sustained collaboration remain essential to addressing emerging security challenges and enhancing public safety.

Earlier, Bakare commended the police command for its consistent security support for corps members, particularly during orientation camps and throughout their service year, describing the assistance as invaluable.

She called for stronger collaboration among security agencies through enhanced intelligence sharing, effective information exchange and coordinated operations to improve public safety and strengthen responses to security threats.

In his response, the commissioner praised the NYSC for its contribution to national unity and youth development, assuring the delegation that the issues raised during the visit would receive the command’s attention.

The visit concluded with the presentation of an NYSC magazine to the commissioner of police by the state coordinator, followed by a group photograph with members of the command’s management team.
