Ondo Poly alumni awards scholarship to indigent student

In a bid to support academic excellence, the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO) Alumni Association has awarded a ₦117,000 scholarship to Ilariogun Christianah Tosin, a National Diploma (ND II) student in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology (SLT).

The financial aid came after Christianah appealed to her Head of Department (HOD) over her inability to pay tuition fees from ND I due to economic challenges.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Henry Olu-Ibrahimo, officially presented the scholarship to the beneficiary.

Olu-Ibrahimo commended the student’s courage and the alumni’s intervention, stating that the collaboration ensures no deserving student is left behind.

Further support also came from the Faculty of Applied Sciences and the SLT Department, which contributed additional funds for Christianah’s upkeep.

Expressing her gratitude, Christianah thanked the donors, noting that the scholarship would ease her financial burden and enable her to focus on her academic pursuits.
