Ondo public servants honour first female accounting doctorate holder

The Forum of Accountants in the Public Service of Ondo State has honoured and showered accolades on a trailblazing accountant, Mrs. Omobola Oladipo PhD, for becoming the first female accountant to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting in the public service of Ondo State.

Oladipo, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), currently serving as the Director of Accounts at the Ondo State Ministry of Information and Orientation was recognized for her accomplishments, expertise and contributions to the accounting profession in the public service.

The chairman, Ondo State Accountants Forum, Comrade Ayodele Adekanbi, while speaking at a week long annual event organised by the forum in Akure with a theme ‘value addition in public finance; role of accountants’, said the remarkable accomplishment of the awardee marks a significant breakthrough for women in the profession in the state.

According to him, the achievements of Omobola are highly commendable and a testament to her dedication, perseverance, hardwork and passion for advancing knowledge in accounting.

He added that her accomplishments will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to aspiring female accountants and professionals worldwide.

While describing the awardees as a woman of many parts, noted that her roles have advanced the frontier of good governance and judicious husbandry of public funds in every government ministry, department and agency she had worked.

Felicitating the Director of Accounts on behalf of the management and staff of the Ministry of Information and Orientation, the Administrative Secretary, Mr. Lanre Akarakiri described Omobola as a dependable person, dedicated, experienced, a goal getter, a thoroughbred professional, and results-oriented officer who is very passionate at all times about the success of others.

In her response, the awardee appreciated God for the gift of life and grace and fortitude to make impacts wherever God places her.
