Ondo sets up panel to address judiciary strike

By Boye Oyeyemi –
The Ondo State Government has constituted a committee to address the grievances of striking magistrates, Presidents of Grade ‘A’ Customary Courts, and members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, with the aim of restoring industrial harmony in the state judiciary.
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, noting that the decision followed growing concerns over the disruption of judicial activities across the state.
He explained that the committee is made up of senior government officials and has already begun engagements with relevant stakeholders to ensure a speedy resolution of the issues.
Ajanaku stated that the government is committed to restoring normalcy to the judicial system through dialogue and mutually acceptable solutions.
He assured residents that all outstanding matters would be resolved within a sustainable framework that would guarantee long-term stability in the judiciary.
The government also called on all parties involved to exercise restraint and avoid unnecessary media exchanges that could worsen the situation.
It urged stakeholders to embrace cooperation and understanding in the collective interest of justice delivery and public service in the state.
