By Kunle Sanni –

The Federal Government of Nigeria has signed a renegotiated agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), aimed at addressing the persistent strikes that have disrupted academic activities in Nigeria’s public tertiary institutions.

The new agreement, which seeks to address long-standing concerns over welfare, funding, and university governance, concludes the renegotiation of the 2009 Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN)–ASUU Agreement.

The agreement was unveiled at a formal ceremony held at the headquarters of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in Abuja.

The meeting was presided over by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, alongside the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad.
