Ondo State open for global investment, says Governor Aiyedatiwa
Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has announced that the state has reached a defining moment in its economic journey, declaring that Ondo is fully prepared for global investment, large-scale expansion, and international competition.
He made the declaration on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Johnvents Group 2025 End-of-Year Celebration held at The Dome, Akure, noting that the conglomerate’s rapid growth across three continents reflects Ondo State’s transformation into a business-friendly environment.
Highlighting Johnvents’ achievements, the Governor cited its more than ten factories, a workforce of 1,500, thousands of beneficiary households, over 5,000 engaged farmers, and support for more than 10,000 young people as evidence of the state’s tangible economic progress.
Governor Aiyedatiwa explained that Ondo’s readiness for global investment is underpinned by deliberate reforms, including strengthened security, expanding road networks linking production clusters to markets, power initiatives around industrial zones, digitised government operations, and a streamlined one-stop-investment interface through the Ondo State Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA).
He also emphasised agriculture as the state’s biggest comparative advantage, citing value chain transformations in cocoa, cassava, cashew, oil palm, timber, and aquaculture sectors, where global investors can scale operations seamlessly.
With representatives of British International Investment, the International Finance Corporation, African Finance Corporation, United Capital, and Commercio Partners in attendance, Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed that Ondo is positioning itself firmly within international investment networks.
Reaffirming the state’s new direction, he said, “This is a story that assures every investor here and every partner across the world that Ondo State is ready for investment, ready for expansion, ready for innovation, and ready for global competitiveness.” He also congratulated Johnvents for symbolising Ondo’s industrial renaissance.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Johnvents Group Executive Director (Real Sector), Mr Tarun Chawla, said the company is committed to projecting the state positively while productively engaging its residents. He commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for providing the enabling environment that allows businesses to thrive in Ondo State.
