One of the two wives of a traditionalist in Osun State, Oba Abdul Adetoyese Olakisan, the Oba Ogboni Agbaye and Awise Iwase of Yorubaland, kidnapped by gunmen has regained freedom.
WesternPost reports that gunmen invaded the residence of the traditionalist in Imes Ile, Obokun Local Government Area on Sunday night and abducted his two wives.
It was gathered that the traditionalist traveled out of town when the gunmen invaded his house.
However, one of the victims regained freedom after spending over 24 hours in the kidnapper’s den.
Confirming the report, a younger brother to the late Olakisan, Dr Ademola Ekundayo said the victim found herself at Ikoro Ekiti, in Ekiti State from where she proceeded to Imesi Ile.
Ekundayo disclosed that the woman told them that she never knew her husband had died because it was the same husband who came to where she was kept and directed her to spread sand on the kidnappers which she did.
“After spreading the sand on the kidnappers as instructed by her husband, they all fell asleep and she unloose the ropes used to tie her and flee the scene. It was not until she got home that she found out that her husband who came to rescue her had died,” Ekundayo said.
Oba Olakisan died in a car accident along with a policeman and an unidentified woman while trailing the kidnappers.
