Osimhen bags brace as Galatasaray clinch Turkish Cup

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored twice to fire Galatasaray to a commanding 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor at the Gaziantep Stadium, sealing their 19th Turkish Cup title and first since 2019.
Osimhen was instrumental throughout the tournament, scoring both goals in the quarter-final win against Fenerbahçe and contributing a goal and an assist in the semi-final rout of Konyaspor.
In the final, Galatasaray quickly took control as Yunus Akgün set up Baris Alper Yilmaz for a brilliant opener in the fifth minute.
Osimhen doubled the lead early in the second half, muscling off a defender and finishing from a tight angle.
He added his second of the night—and 35th of the season—after finishing off a rapid counter-attack, securing the title and ending Trabzonspor’s hopes after a second straight final defeat.
The victory marks Osimhen’s first trophy with Galatasaray and his fourth major career title, following triumphs at the U-17 World Cup, U-23 AFCON, and Serie A.
He also broke a 24-year-old record held by Mario Jardel, becoming the first foreign player to score 35 goals in a single season for Galatasaray.
