Osun: Adeleke constitutes committee to resolve land disputes in three communities

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has constituted a 100-member High-Powered Land Crisis Resolution Committee to address the long-standing land disputes between the Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun communities.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Chief Kolapo Alimi, the committee will include 25 representatives from each of the affected communities and 25 from the state government.
The committee will be chaired by the Ataoja of Osogbo land, Oba Jimoh Adetunji Olanipekun Larooye, while a retired judge of the Osun State Judiciary and Chairman of the Osun State Boundary Commission, Justice Moshood Adekunle Adeigbe, will serve as Co-Chairman.
Alimi explained that the Governor established the committee to bring a lasting resolution to the recurring land disputes among the three communities.
Four other traditional rulers on the committee are:
Oba Abioye Oyebode, the Olokuku of Okuku
Oba Adams Iyiola Bamidele Yusuf, the Oloba of Oba Oke
Oba Adekeye Oyedare, the Oloyan of Oyan
Oba Akeem Ogungbamgbe, the Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesha
Other members include:
Mr. Umar Abba Mohammed, Osun State Commissioner of Police
Mr. Ayoola Kehinde, Osun State Director, Department of State Services (DSS)
Brigadier General Aliu Mohammed, Commander E.C.C, Ede
Mr. Sotiyobo Igbalawola, Osun State Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
Mr. Anthony Chikezie, Osun State Commander, Immigration Service
Dr. Adekunle Omoyele, Osun State Commander, Amotekun Corps
Barrister Dare Ojo, Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Security
The committee also includes experts from various fields.
The statement added that the Governor will inaugurate the committee on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
