Osun APC Reps candidate’s convoy allegedly attacked in Okuku

The convoy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, Francis Eniade, was allegedly attacked in Okuku, headquarters of Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the incident occurred as Eniade’s convoy was returning from Inisa when suspected thugs and security personnel, allegedly travelling in a Lexus Jeep, waylaid the convoy.

Eniade alleged that the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Wale Egbedun, was behind the attack, saying he and two of his aides were injured.

“My convoy was waylaid while returning from Inisa by suspected thugs and security personnel attached to Hon. Egbedun, who were travelling in a Lexus Jeep. I sensed the danger, so I directed my driver to increase his speed and head to the Okuku Divisional Police Station for safety,” he said.

“But Egbedun’s security details and suspected thugs invaded the police station where I was. I escaped narrowly, but my driver was wounded, while the Hilux and other vehicles were damaged.”

Eniade demanded an investigation into the alleged attack and the arrest of everyone involved.

Reacting, Egbedun denied the allegation, accusing Eniade of earlier attempting to attack the Odo-Otin Local Government Chairman, Adewale Adeyinka, with fake policemen.

Speaking through his chief press secretary, Olamide Tiamiyu, Egbedun said two of the alleged fake policemen were arrested with guns and taken to the DSS Command in Osogbo.
