Osun APC slams Adeleke, accuses him of corruption, vendetta

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of attempting to tarnish the image of his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola, with false allegations.

The Osun State Government had petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Oyetola, now the Minister of Blue Economy, over the alleged misappropriation of a $20 million World Bank health grant and over ₦1.5 billion allegedly funneled through the Osun chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) between January and October 2022.

At a press conference in Abuja, APC’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, dismissed the allegations as a witch-hunt. He maintained that Oyetola’s administration utilized the funds effectively and challenged the state government to provide evidence of wrongdoing.

Olabisi accused Adeleke’s administration of corruption, alleging that contracts worth billions of naira had been awarded to the governor’s family members and associates.

He claimed that two companies linked to the Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Akinyode Oyewusi, had received joint contracts worth over ₦10 billion.

He also criticized the administration’s lack of transparency, noting that while the APC government uploaded over 110 contract and procurement details on the state’s e-procurement portal, Adeleke’s government had published only seven contract details in two years.

Olabisi further alleged that the recent accusations against Oyetola were politically motivated, aimed at distracting the public ahead of the 2026 election. He urged the governor to focus on governance rather than engaging in what he described as baseless propaganda.
