Osun CityBoy Movement sets 250,000 membership target for Tinubu’s re-election

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The CityBoy Movement in Osun State has set a target of registering 250,000 youths as members within the next 30 days to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election, as it inaugurated its state, local government and area office executives across the state.
The state coordinator, Kayode Sowade, disclosed this on Sunday during the inauguration in Osogbo, charging the newly inaugurated executives to take the movement to the grassroots and engage young people across their respective communities.
He said, “It is an ambitious target, and we must approach it with seriousness. Every coordinator must understand the assignment ahead. Every local government structure must be active. We must be organised in how we reach people, document registrations and report our progress. We cannot achieve this target by waiting for people to find us. We must go out and meet them where they are”.
Sowade said the movement’s support for Tinubu was driven by the administration’s policies and programmes in infrastructure, education, digital skills and other areas, urging members to help youths access opportunities provided by the Federal Government.
He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Three Million Technical Talent programme and the Federal Government’s partnership with Obafemi Awolowo University to develop mineral resources in Ife and Ijesa and establish a world-class centre of mining innovation in Osun as some of the initiatives members should communicate to young people.
Also speaking, the patron of the Osun CityBoy Movement, Femi Oyetola, said the state had benefited significantly from the Tinubu administration, particularly through major road projects, including the Iwo-Ibadan, Ibadan-Ife and Gbongan-Osogbo roads, which he said would improve connectivity and stimulate economic activities.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done well for us in Osun State, and it is now our responsibility to reciprocate that support with our votes. This is not merely a political gathering; it is a call to responsibility,” Oyetola said.
For his part, the Olu of Ileogbo, Oba Abeeb Agbaje, also urged members to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election and work for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
