Traditional stakeholders in Osun State have applauded the appointment of Prof. Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), describing it as a recognition of competence and academic excellence.

The Owa of Otan-Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman Ojo-Fadipe, and the Otan-Ayegbaju Progressive Union (OAPU) congratulated Aina on his appointment in a statement issued by the OAPU Global President, Aare G.H. Adetunji Mosebolatan, through the union’s Public Relations Officer, Lateef Dada.

The stakeholders also commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing who they described as a capable and competent youth to head the examination body.

Mosebolatan described Aina as a man of proven ability who has contributed significantly to the development of Otan-Ayegbaju, particularly in the area of education.

He noted that the newly appointed registrar, who serves as Financial Secretary of OAPU, would build on the legacy of the outgoing JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.

“We are proud to say that President Bola Tinubu has appointed a capable person to head JAMB, not only because of his academic qualifications, but also because of the capacity he has already demonstrated in Otan-Ayegbaju.

“Prof. Aina, whose father, Emeritus Prof. Olu Aina, is the Asiwaju of Otan-Ayegbaju, has contributed meaningfully to the development of the town in many ways, particularly in education,” he said.

The union appealed to stakeholders to support the new registrar to enable him succeed and sustain improvements in the administration of tertiary admissions.
