Osun workers expect new minimum wage, as negotiation committee finalizes recommendations

The Minimum Wage Negotiation Committee set up by Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is concluding its work, paving the way for the implementation of the new minimum wage.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Saturday.

According to him, the committee has been working tirelessly to ensure a sustainable implementation of the minimum wage, in line with the administration’s five-point agenda.

The commissioner said the committee, led by Chief of Staff Hon. Kazeem Akinleye, has made significant progress and will soon submit its recommendations to the government for approval.

The negotiation committee comprises representatives from the government and labor unions, ensuring that workers’ interests are adequately represented. The labor side is led by Comrade Arapasopo Abimbola Christopher, state Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
