Otunba Adekunle Ojora took me under his wing — Oba Abolarin

Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin has revealed how the Late boardroom guru, Otunba Adekunle Ojora who passed on at age 93 took him under his wing for tutelage alongside his lifelong friend, late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
In a personal tribute to the Lisa of Ile-Ife and Otunba of Lagos, Oba Abolarin revealed the close personal relationship he enjoyed with the Late Ooni, Admiral Akin Aduwo and Otunba Ojora adding that from the three men he got wisdom and real life and valuable experiences.
“Otunba Adekunle Ojora was extremely fond of his friend, Oba Okunade Adele Sijuwade, the 50th Ooni of Ife – in life and in death. As a ‘rookie’ Yoruba traditional ruler, about two years afer my installation as the Orangun of Oke-Ila, he clinically identified my potentials early and took me under his wing . Alongside other close friends of Baba Okunade Sijuwade, like the naval “King” Akin Aduwo, I was always in their midst, learning greatly from their wisdom and experiences.
“I saw Otunba Ojora at the 10th anniversary celebration of Oba Okunade Sijuwade’s demise in Lagos . He looked fragile, Baba was no longer his boisterous and ebullient self. But when he saw me, Baba’s eyes lit up . We shared warm memories of Baba Okunade, and I was touched by his kindness. May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy live on through the lives he’s impacted,” the revered monarch said.
