Owa Obokun inaugurates organising committee for May 25 coronation
The new Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Clement Adesuyi, Ajimoko III, has inaugurated a 13-member committee to oversee activities for his official coronation ceremony on May 25 this year.
Led by a former Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Wale Omole, the committee has Alhaji Lateef Akande Bakare, a reputable chartered accountant, as Vice Chairman and Lady Modupe Ajayi-Gbadebo, a renowned journalist and accomplished lawyer, as Secretary.
Other members of the committee include Hon. Ajibola Famurewa, Hon. Sunday Bisi, Mr. Olusola Dada, Prof. Kolawole Kazeem, Prince Abimbola Olashore, Bayo Omole Esq., Dr. Oladimeji Alo, Very Rev. Dr. Ogunbeku, Mr. Ayo Odeyemi, and Barrister Dosu Babatunde.
The Osun State government approved the nomination of Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup as the 41st Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland in December last year following the passing of Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran on September 11, 2024.
