The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has declared his readiness to reposition the state for greater development ahead of the 2026 election.
Oyebamiji made the declaration in his acceptance speech at the APC 2025 governorship primary held on Saturday at Ebunoluwa International School, Ofatedo, where he pledged to prioritise education, healthcare, poverty reduction, and the welfare of residents.
He stated that Osun was at a crossroads between progress and wastefulness, stressing the need for accountability and an all-round education system as the foundation for sustainable development.
According to him, the APC is committed to improving the standard of living of residents by tackling poverty and hunger, promoting functional education, and revitalising the state’s health sector to reduce reliance on medical tourism.
Oyebamiji thanked his co-aspirants for setting aside personal ambitions in the interest of party unity, noting that their collective resolve contributed to the success of the primary.
Chairman of the APC Primary and Affirmation Congress Committee and Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, described the exercise as historic, saying it reaffirmed the unity and strength of the party in Osun State.
The APC state chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, said the party’s decisions were aimed at protecting its integrity and ensuring it remained united and prepared for victory in 2026.
The event attracted top party leaders, including governors, members of the APC National Working Committee, lawmakers, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and other governorship aspirants.
