Oyebamiji promises economic revival, unveils 5,100 canvassers ahead of Osun poll

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15, 2026 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to revitalise the state’s economy through strategic investments, job creation and industrial development if elected governor.
Oyebamiji made the promise during the inauguration of 5,100 canvassers drawn from Iwo, Ayedade and Ola-Oluwa local government areas to mobilise grassroots support for the party ahead of the governorship election.
The APC candidate said his administration would re-engineer the state’s finances and economy, with priority attention given to sectors such as agriculture, commerce, security, youth development and women empowerment. He added that his government would improve the welfare of residents through policies aimed at transforming the state.
Charging the canvassers to embark on door-to-door campaigns, Oyebamiji said the approach would help voters understand and embrace the party’s agenda.
He said, “It’s time for you to embark on door-to-door campaigns. Such an approach would make people believe in our ‘PROSPER’ agenda and how realistic it is within a short time when elected”.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, said the party would deploy effective strategies to secure victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
The Osun APC State Secretary and Chairman of the Campaign Council for Iwo Federal Constituency, Alao Kamoru, disclosed that 30 canvassers were selected from each of the 170 polling units in Iwo, bringing the total number of canvassers to 5,100.
In their separate remarks, Prince Dotun Babayemi, Dr Festus Oyebade Olowogboyega, Hon. Kamorudeen Alao, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi and Engr. Abeeb Ademola Adebayo urged residents of the constituency to vote massively for the APC in the election.
