Oyebamiji urges Osun residents to collect PVCs ahead of 2027 elections
By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has urged residents who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so without delay ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, said the PVC remained a vital instrument for citizens to exercise their right to elect leaders of their choice and determine the country’s future.
In a statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Saturday, he urged residents to visit their respective ward collection centres to collect their PVCs following the resumption of distribution by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He also appealed to those who had collected their PVCs to keep them safe ahead of the general elections.
Oyebamiji called for continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, urging residents to demonstrate their support by voting overwhelmingly for his re-election.
“The time has come again to go out in large numbers to obtain our Permanent Voter Cards as we approach the next general elections. INEC has resumed the distribution exercise, and it is incumbent on us as citizens to exercise our civic responsibility by collecting our PVCs and voting,” he said.
He added, “In Osun, there are uncollected PVCs that are still in the custody of the electoral umpire. Let us go there and collect ours. For those who are yet to collect their PVCs, I implore them to do so without further delay. For those who already have their PVCs, please keep them safe.”
Oyebamiji urged residents not to sell their PVCs, describing them as essential tools for participating in elections and electing leaders capable of delivering development and good governance.
