Oyetola’s downfall, bad signals for Governor Abiodun, says Ogun NNPP chairman

Chairman of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ogun State Mr. Sunday Oginni Olaposi has advised the state Governor, Dapo Abiodun to start writing his handover note as the failure of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to return to office for the second term is a bad omen for all other APC governors in the country.
Olaposi, in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Sunday, urged Governor Abiodun to start preparing his handover notes, saying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is not under state governors unlike the local government elections.
The party commended the INEC Chairman, Dr. Mamood Yakub on the successful completion of the processes of the governorship election in Osun State.
According to Olaposi, INEC by the transparency and electronic innovations recently introduced in the conduct of elections, has proved to the world that the votes of the electorate count.
He maintained that the new technology adopted by the electoral body would end electoral manipulations and abracadabra of politicians and government in power.
“The fall of an incumbent governor of APC is a bad omen for Governor Dapo Abiodun. It is the end of the road for APC’s election manipulations and abracadabra. It is on record that New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ogun State won several wards and local governments during the last local government elections conducted by OGSIEC, but APC and Governor. Dapo Abiodun fraudulently deprived NNPP candidates of Certificate of Returns.
“The good news is that INEC elections shall not be under the whims and caprices of Governor Dapo Abiodun and APC for manipulations and abracadabra. A aew Ogun State is possible with NNPP come March 2023 elections,” he said.
