Former Lagos commissioner, Kemi Nelson dies at 66
At former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Lagos State, Chief (Mrs) Kemi Nelson is dead.
WesternPost learnt that she died Sunday morning after a protracted battle with cancer.
She was aged 66.
Born February 9, 1956, she attended Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode for her secondary education, before proceeding to the School of Nursing in the University College Hospital Ibadan where she qualified as a registered Nurse and Midwife.
She got an MBA in Financial Management and a Diploma in Law from the Lagos State University, Ojo.
She was Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation during the first term of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as Lagos State Governor between 1999 and 2003.
She was appointed Executive Director, Nigerian Insurance Trust Fund by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
