Oyo APC gov candidate Alli celebrates Ladoja at 82

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, on his 82nd birthday and first anniversary on the throne.
Alli, in a congratulatory message issued by his campaign organisation’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bisi Oladele, in Ibadan on Friday, described Ladoja as an outstanding statesman, administrator, political strategist and traditional ruler whose life had been dedicated to service to Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria.
He said the monarch’s birthday and first anniversary as Olubadan represented a significant milestone worthy of celebration, noting that Ladoja’s journey from public service and political leadership to the traditional institution reflected decades of experience, sacrifice and resilience.
Ladoja became the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland at Mapo Hall on September 26, 2025, following the death of his predecessor, Oba Olakulehin Owolabi. Alli said the monarch’s decades-long progression through the traditional hierarchy had equipped him with extensive experience and institutional knowledge.
The senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District also commended Ladoja for the dignity, wisdom and sense of responsibility with which he had carried the Olubadan crown. He described the monarch as a repository of Ibadan’s history, culture, values and traditions whose contributions transcended political affiliations and generations.
Alli said, “Kabiyesi, your 82nd birthday and first anniversary on the throne are powerful reminders of a life of service, sacrifice, courage and uncommon dedication to humanity. At 82, you have continued to demonstrate that true leadership is not about age, position or title, but about service, wisdom, character and the positive impact one makes on society.”
He added that Ladoja’s experience and understanding of the aspirations of the people remained valuable assets to Oyo State, while expressing confidence that his reign would continue to contribute to peace, unity and development in Ibadanland.
Alli prayed for continued peace and prosperity in Ibadanland, Oyo State and Nigeria, asking Almighty Allah to preserve, strengthen and grant the Olubadan many more years of fruitful service. He also wished the monarch a happy 82nd birthday and first anniversary on the throne.
