The Oyo State Government has warned pensioners against a false verification notice currently in circulation, urging them to disregard the message.

In a statement on Friday, the Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, clarified that the notice requesting pensioners to submit photocopies of their pension certificates along with bank details and phone numbers to Room 103 of the Ministry is fraudulent.

Prof. Adelabu advised pensioners to remain cautious and vigilant against such misinformation, assuring them that the Ministry will contact eligible pensioners directly when it is their turn to receive benefits.

He emphasized that all official communications are made through recognized and credible channels, urging pensioners to verify any suspicious messages before acting.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, Prof. Adelabu said that under Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership, the Oyo State Government remains dedicated to the welfare of retirees, ensuring transparency and due process in all pension-related matters.

He called on the public to help spread accurate information, stressing that protecting pensioners from fraud is a shared responsibility.
