The lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has announced new empowerment programmes for his constituents while declaring support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Oseni made the declaration on Saturday at the Ido Local Government General Meeting of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF), where more than 10,000 members gathered in Ibadan.
As part of his constituency intervention, he unveiled a ₦50 million support package for traders in Ido and Ibarapa East, describing the initiative as a boost for small businesses and local economic growth. He also launched the ROCOF University Scholarship Scheme, which offers full tuition scholarships to students who secure at least five distinctions in WAEC and gain admission into higher institutions.

The lawmaker said the schemes were designed to empower traders and youths, whom he described as “the backbone of community development and the leaders of tomorrow.”
Oseni, who also serves as President of ROCOF, disclosed that the group had recorded over 265,000 registered members across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State, just eight weeks after its inauguration. He projected that the membership figure would surpass 500,000 by December.
He pledged that ROCOF would mobilise massively for Tinubu’s re-election, stressing that Oyo APC would return to power in 2027. He praised the President’s reforms, particularly in agriculture, education loans, and small business support, which he said were already impacting lives positively.
On Oyo politics, the Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency argued that the state should not remain in opposition, insisting that alignment with the Federal Government was crucial for accelerated development.
The Ibadan meeting, which Oseni described as his “homecoming of destiny,” was attended by traditional rulers, APC chieftains, artisans, youth groups, women leaders, and thousands of grassroots supporters.
