Oyo PDP governorship aspirant Olajide Odidiomo resigns from party

A member of the House of Representatives, Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Olajide represents the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo State.
His resignation was conveyed in a letter dated May 5, 2026, addressed to the office of the PDP chairman of Ward 11 in Ibadan South-West LGA.
The lawmaker said his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and constituents.
He equally noted that although the move was difficult, it became necessary due to prevailing realities within the party.
Olajide added that he intends to continue pursuing his political ambitions in an environment that promotes inclusiveness, stability, and progressive engagement.
He further appreciated the party’s leadership and members for their support during his time in the PDP, stating that his resignation was made in good faith and without resentment.
