The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced Prince Emmanuel Ademola Aderoju as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The party announced Aderoju’s selection in a statement signed by its Chairman, Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso, and made available to journalists on Sunday evening.

Aderoju will run alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Hazeem Gbolarumi, as the PDP prepares for the 2027 governorship election in the state.

In his remarks, Akinoso said Aderoju was selected as Gbolarumi’s running mate based on his antecedents, describing his professional background as part of the considerations behind the decision.

According to the party chairman, Aderoju hails from Ofiki in Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State, within the Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone. He will turn 67 on October 10, 2026.

Akinoso disclosed that the deputy governorship candidate is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a certified information systems auditor.

The PDP chairman further stated that Aderoju obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Calabar, where he emerged as the best graduating student and received the Elumelu Legacy Prize for excellence in business administration.
