The Oyo State Police Command has announced the recovery of a stolen silver Toyota Corolla Sport with Lagos registration number LSR 893 CX.

The recovery followed an operation carried out by the Anti-Robbery Squad after weeks of reports indicating that Uber drivers were being attacked at gunpoint by armed robbers in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adewale Osifeso, who disclosed this in a statement on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, explained that the case was initially reported at the Iyaganku Divisional Headquarters before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for in-depth investigation.

According to the command, officers deployed a mix of intelligence gathering, surveillance, and tracking efforts that led to the swift recovery of the vehicle.

“The recovery of the stolen vehicle reflects our determination to confront crime proactively. We are dedicated to protecting our citizens and ensuring that those responsible for these criminal acts are brought to justice,” the Commissioner of Police said.

The command assured residents that it will continue to intensify operations against armed robbery and other criminal activities in the state.

It also urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities to security operatives.
