A member of the House of Representatives, Aderemi Oseni, has declared his intention to contest the Oyo South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
Oseni, who represents Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, made his ambition known during a high-level meeting with the Ibarapa APC Elders’ and Leaders’ Forum.
The meeting, which included members of the G9 and expanded G64 caucus, was held at the party secretariat in Eruwa, Ibarapa East Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, the lawmaker appreciated the forum for its continued support and confidence in his leadership.
Oseni said his senatorial ambition is anchored on his track record of performance and commitment to grassroots development.
He described the move as a call to serve, noting that his aspiration represents a continuation and expansion of his contributions to public service.
The lawmaker also assured party elders and supporters that he would not betray their trust, while urging leaders in the zone to mobilise support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in future elections.
Meanwhile, party leaders including Michael Morawo, Theophilus Adenrele and Francis Babalola commended Oseni’s performance and loyalty, while forum chairman Timothy Jolaoso said the lawmaker enjoys widespread grassroots support and possesses the capacity for higher office.
