Bimbo Adekambi declares interest to participate in Oyo gubernatorial election

Former Deputy Chief of Staff and ex-Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Bimbo Adekambi, has officially declared his intention to contest for the governorship of Oyo State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Adekambi made his declaration during a visit to the PDP State secretariat in Oke Ado, Ibadan, where he met with party executives, local government chairmen, and other key stakeholders.
In his address, Adekambi said he was prepared to serve and committed to consolidating the state’s developmental progress.
He also called for unity among party members as the PDP begins preparations for the 2027 electoral cycle.
Reacting, the state PDP chairman, who hosted the meeting, described the declaration as a significant moment for the party in Oyo State.
He prayed for Adekambi’s success and expressed confidence that he would enjoy both divine favour and political goodwill, including that of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Party stakeholders at the event also praised Adekambi’s experience in governance and public finance, describing him as well-positioned for higher responsibility.
