Governor Inuwa commissions mechanic village, inspects capital projects in Gombe

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has stepped up his administration’s infrastructure drive with the commissioning of a purpose-built mechanic village along Bajoga Road and an inspection of key ongoing projects across the state capital.
The newly inaugurated facility is expected to improve the operations of automobile technicians by providing a structured and conducive workspace. Strategically located between the Ibrahim Dankwambo Mega Motor Park and the state office of the Road Transport Employers Association, the mechanic village is designed to enhance service delivery and accessibility for vehicle owners.
Addressing mechanics and supporters at the event on Tuesday, the governor highlighted the importance of technicians to the transport sector and the economy, noting that the project was aimed at supporting skilled workers while promoting urban order and economic productivity.
He also assured beneficiaries that the government remains open to expanding the facility to meet increasing demand.
Following the commissioning, Yahaya embarked on an inspection tour of major infrastructure projects within the metropolis, including the Three Arms Zone, which houses the state secretariat, House of Assembly and High Court complexes.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of work completed but urged contractors to maintain high standards and avoid any compromise, assuring that adequate funding had been secured for the projects.
The governor also inspected the road network within the Three Arms Zone and the ongoing 76.5-metre underpass project in the city centre, described as one of the most extensive handled by the contractor.
At an erosion control project site, he assessed ongoing work and expressed satisfaction, while officials assured that all projects were progressing according to schedule.
