Oyo seeks German partnership to advance environmental sustainability

The Oyo State Government is set to collaborate with the German Government to strengthen initiatives in environmental sustainability and innovation.

Disclosing this development, the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Ademola Aderinto, revealed that the state is actively engaging development partners to boost environmental projects and attract investment.

He made the disclosure during the West African Clean Energy and Environment Exhibition (WACEE) 2026 in Lagos

According to him, discussions with the German Consul General, Daniel Krull, are focused on potential areas of cooperation between both governments, including clean energy, waste management, and climate resilience strategies to improve residents’ quality of life.

The Commissioner emphasized that Oyo State is committed to leveraging best global practices and technical expertise through strategic partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals and drive economic growth.

In his response, Consul General Krull highlighted several German institutions that could support Oyo State, including development finance organizations specializing in infrastructure and economic development.
