The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has hailed the commissioning of the Ibadan Central Bus Terminal 1 and 2 as a testament to purposeful leadership and the benefits of strategic infrastructural investment in Oyo State.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at Iwo Road, Ibadan, and presided over by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Speaker commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his steadfast commitment to transforming the state through massive infrastructure projects aimed at improving the lives of residents.
Ogundoyin recalled that the terminal project was flagged off only a few years ago and, despite the disruptions it caused to local businesses and traffic flow, it now stands as a success story reflecting the long-term rewards of patience and progressive governance.
“There is no development without pain,” the Speaker remarked. “The pain of yesterday has become the joy of today. This monumental edifice is proof that Governor Makinde’s vision is not just transformational but also impactful. This terminal will improve mobility, ease congestion, and stimulate local commerce. To our people in Oyo State, I say: stay hopeful, better days are here.”
The Speaker emphasized that the completion of the Ibadan Central Bus Terminal 1 and 2 demonstrates how infrastructural investments can drive urban renewal, boost economic activities, and create job opportunities for residents. He noted that such developments would continue to enhance Ibadan’s reputation as a modern, livable city.
Ogundoyin further reaffirmed the Oyo State House of Assembly’s unwavering support for Governor Makinde’s developmental agenda, pledging continued legislative backing for projects that promote progress and sustainable growth across the state.
“We will continue to stand behind this administration,” he said. “As long as the vision remains focused on uplifting our people and modernizing our state, we will remain a solid pillar of support.”
The commissioning of the Ibadan Central Bus Terminal marks another milestone in the Makinde administration’s efforts to modernize public transport infrastructure in Oyo State, complementing other ongoing projects designed to improve urban mobility and economic productivity.
