Oyo State College of Agriculture announces demise of deputy registrar

The Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, has confirmed the passing of its Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs, Alhaji Rahman Onike.

The announcement was made on Friday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Opeyemi Olawore.

Alhaji Onike, a native of Oyo town, reportedly fell ill shortly after delivering a lecture on campus on Thursday.

He was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention, where he was later pronounced dead.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Rector, Professor Akinola Akinlabi, Olawore described Onike as a highly resourceful administrator and a dedicated staff member. The statement extended condolences to his family, colleagues, students, and the wider college community.

Onike joined the college in 2008 as an Administrative Officer II and rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Registrar. He was an alumnus of Saint Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo, University of Ibadan, and Olivet High School.

The Rector expressed deep sympathy to the deceased’s family, staff, and students over the loss of a respected member of the institution.
