The Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA) has given Durantee Farm Limited, an aquaculture farm, a final 14-day ultimatum to comply with previously issued environmental directives.

The enforcement notice was delivered on the 9th of February, 2026 after an earlier 21-day Notice.

According to authorities, an initial notice was issued due to concerns about poor wastewater management and the discharge of untreated effluents into public water bodies.

During the latest visit, enforcement officers reportedly found that the company had not taken visible steps to address the infractions, including the reconstruction and proper covering of its open Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).

Reacting to the claims, the company’s Human Resources and Administration Manager, Alhaji Ebunade Oloyeede, informed the inspection team that a consultant had been engaged to design facility upgrades.

He disclosed that the company had submitted a request to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources for approval but claimed no response had been received, which contributed to the delay.

OYRLEA has now directed the company to present verifiable evidence of the consultant’s engagement, project drawings, and proof of submission of its correspondence to the ministry within the new compliance window.

The Authority warned that failure to meet the deadline would attract further enforcement measures under relevant environmental and public health regulations in Oyo State, reiterating its commitment to protecting public health and environmental standards.
