Ozoro Assault: Oluremi Tinubu commends Police, demands justice for victims

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, has commended the Nigeria Police Force for the arrests made following the assault of women and girls during the Alue-Do festival in Ozoro.
Public outrage had grown in recent days after disturbing videos circulated on social media allegedly showing the harassment and assault of women during the festival.
The incident has since led to police arrests and ongoing investigations, with many Nigerians demanding justice for the victims.
Reacting to the development via a statement on Sunday, the First Lady called for thorough prosecution of all those involved.
“I commend the Nigeria Police Force for the arrests already made and urge all relevant authorities to ensure that all perpetrators face the full weight of the law,” she said.
She also expressed concern about the physical and emotional wellbeing of the victims, urging them to seek professional support.
“To the victims of this unfortunate incident, I urge you to seek the relevant medical and psychological help,” she stated.
Senator Tinubu further extended her sympathy, offering prayers for the recovery of those affected. “I pray for your healing, peace and strength at this difficult time,” she added.
