The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba and other leaders have waded into the crisis rocking the party over who gets the ticket to represent Ido constituency in the state House of Assembly in the next political dispensation.
Four aspirants, who had earlier signified interest to run for the position in 2023 were incensed when it was learnt that party leaders had endorsed the incumbent member in the Assembly, Hon. Razak Mabaje to run for second term, a development which caused uproar in the constituency.
The aspirants, who vehemently rejected the idea of giving Mabaje ticket for the second term included Lamidi Mojeed (Ward 2), Gafau Ojimi (Ward 10), Kazeem Oyepeju (Ward 8) and Stephen Fapetu (Ward 10).
Alhaji Ayuba in a meeting he presided over alongside other leaders of the party in the area prevailed on the aggrieved aspirants to allow Mabaje return for a second term in order to enable him consolidate and complete his projects.
Alhaji Ayuba, while urging them to support and cooperate with Mabaje in his effort to return to the assembly for a second term assured them that the lawmaker will deliver dividends of democracy to the area.
Meanwhile, the legislator has again reassured the people of the constituency of adequate representation calling for support and cooperation of the people.
