Joao Pedro scored a brace as Chelsea outclassed Fluminense 2-0 to book a spot in the final of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.
A crowd of 76,556 fans watched from the stands of the MetLife Stadium in New York as the Blues swept past the Brazilian side.
Pedro’s first goal of the night came in the 18th minute with a stunning strike from 20 yards.
He sealed the win for the English Premier League side with his second goal in the 56th minute.
Chelsea now awaits the winner of the other semi-final clash between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to determine their opponent in the final.
An elated Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca, shared his excitement after the match.
“It’s a great achievement. It has been a fantastic season — top four in the Premier League, Conference League triumph, and now a place in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup. We are so, so happy.”
