PHOTO NEWS: Afenifere celebrates leader, Reuben Fasoranti 100th birthday with lecture in Lagos
The Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, has celebrated its leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, on his 100th birthday with a centenary lecture held on Friday at the Muson Centre in Lagos.
The lecture, themed “A Century of Courage and Stewardship of Yoruba Democratic Legacy,” was delivered by retired Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu and Professor Ropo Sekoni.
President Bola Tinubu was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
The well-attended event attracted prominent Yoruba leaders, including Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Minister of Interior Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of State for Health Dr Adekunle Salako, and Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
Also in attendance were former Ogun State Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba; former Ekiti State Governor Otunba Niyi Adebayo; former Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi; and former Ondo State Governor Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
Traditional rulers at the event included Oba Olu Falae and Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye, the Olowo of Owo, alongside other prominent traditional and political leaders.
