The newly appointed Osun State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr. Adetula Oluwarotimi Lawal, on Wednesday paid a courtesy and advocacy visit to the Alapomu of Apomu, His Royal Majesty Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi (Atoyebi II).
The visit, which took place at the palace in Apomu, headquarters of Isokan Local Government Area, was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the NDLEA and traditional institutions in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking across Osun State.

Commander Lawal, who assumed office in December 2024, previously served as the Head of Operations at the NDLEA TinCan Port Command in Lagos. He hails from Owo in Ondo State and brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
During the meeting, both the NDLEA boss and the monarch discussed strategies for community engagement, youth sensitization, and public awareness campaigns to promote a drug-free society.

Oba Afolabi expressed his full support for the agency’s initiatives and emphasized the vital role of traditional rulers in promoting societal values and security. He assured the commander of the palace’s cooperation in efforts to combat the menace of drug abuse.
Commander Lawal, in turn, appreciated the monarch’s warm reception and pledged to deepen grassroots partnerships that will drive effective drug control in the state.
The visit, which was shared on the Alapomu’s official Facebook page, reflects the NDLEA’s commitment to inclusive stakeholder engagement in addressing drug-related challenges.
