The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has declared that the North Central region is enjoying unprecedented recognition and benefits under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) North Central Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday night, Governor AbdulRazaq highlighted the region’s recent gains in national appointments, infrastructure, and policy inclusion as evidence of the administration’s commitment to regional development.
“The North Central has never been this favoured in national reckoning,” the governor stated, citing the establishment of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) as a major milestone. He noted that the commission was a key demand presented to the President in May 2024, and its swift approval reflects a government that listens and acts.
“Our sons and daughters have been appointed to lead the commission. This is a big win for us, and we are grateful to Mr. President,” AbdulRazaq said.
The governor also applauded recent federal appointments from the region, including the Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC, as well as new infrastructure projects initiated in North Central states.
He further praised the Tinubu administration’s National Forest Guards policy, describing it as a “bold effort” that places local communities at the center of Nigeria’s evolving security strategy.
“Despite the transitional inconveniences of the early stage, Mr. President’s reforms are bearing good fruit, and the future looks bright,” he said, urging stakeholders to maintain their support for the APC and the President beyond 2027.
AbdulRazaq called for sustained political unity, saying that continued alignment with the federal government is “good for national cohesion, sustained economic growth, and political stability.”
