Emir of Zazzau visits NAHCON, seeks improved Hajj operations

The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has pledged the support of the traditional institution to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) while calling for sustained efficiency in the administration of Hajj operations.

Bamalli made the call on Wednesday when he visited the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The Emir commended the NAHCON leadership for its efforts to reform Hajj operations, noting that coordinating the logistics for tens of thousands of Nigerian pilgrims required dedication, transparency and strategic planning.

He said the Zazzau Emirate and traditional institutions had an important role to play in mobilising and sensitising intending pilgrims to ensure a smooth Hajj exercise.

“Hajj is a significant spiritual journey, and the comfort, safety and well-being of our people while fulfilling this religious obligation must remain paramount,” Bamalli said.

He urged the commission to sustain efforts towards structural efficiency, early preparations and transparent communication to address recurring operational challenges.

Responding, the NAHCON chairman expressed appreciation to the Emir for the visit, describing it as a morale booster for the commission’s management and staff.

Yusuf briefed the royal father on NAHCON’s latest policy frameworks, digital innovations and strategic partnerships aimed at reducing costs, improving accommodation and feeding arrangements, and streamlining the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims.
