PHOTO NEWS: Shettima flags off 2026 Hajj airlift in Abuja

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Sunday flagged off the 2026 Hajj airlift operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday. He urged pilgrims to act as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria, stressing that “you carry with you the image of our nation and the dignity of our people.”


About 500 pilgrims from Kogi State were airlifted in the inaugural flight, as part of the estimated 50,000 Nigerians expected to perform this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Also present at the event were Usman Ododo, Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, and the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Ismail Abba Yusuf.
